1. Need to configure mail-service.xml with read receipt
nickarls Feb 2, 2011 3:13 AM (in response to listener)It's not a standard SMTP feature and depends on the recieving client. I think e.g. Outlook use a header to communicate this.

3. Need to configure mail-service.xml with read receipt
nickarls Feb 8, 2011 3:37 PM (in response to listener)Fortunately, no. The spammers would love a feature like that.
If you're sneaky you could have a pixel image with a specific URL that leads back to a tracking servlet but for that reason, most mailers block images initially

5. Need to configure mail-service.xml with read receipt
nickarls Feb 9, 2011 3:45 AM (in response to listener)So you're looking for delivery notification and not read reciepts? I get the picture that the statuses are reported with exception if the mail.smtp.reportsuccess is enabled so I'm note sure where you would handle that. You can start by raising the log level to debug as MailService appear to log the used parameters.

14. Need to configure mail-service.xml with read receipt
nickarls Feb 17, 2011 1:55 AM (in response to listener)Use a JavaMail TransportListener? Note that at this point we are already talking about delivery receipt and not read reciept as the thread started out.
