Is JBoss Cache compatible with JBoss AS 6.x ?

If I understand well the JBoss Cache project is archived... deprecated.

I wrote part of my j2ee application based on the JBoss Cache but now I want port it to JBoss 6.x and I see that JBoss Cache seems to be not use anymore....

So I believe there are 2 alternative...

1) distribute and install Jboss Cache 3.2.5 under JBoss 6.x (but I haven't found any compatibility document)

2) Found an alternative to JBoss Cache and rewrite my code.... (too much time....).. in this case.. what is the Alternative Project to JBoss Cache ?
