RIchfaces team is still working on providing the show case examples.
please explore irc-client from examples. I providing link to the branch with latest code as there are settings required to start present in readme. Article describing the application already written and now under review. So please be patient we'll try to announce it ASAP That sample targetted to Jboss AS 6 as written in readme.
And if you want to explore tomcat/jetty targetted sample check dev demo

That branch dedicated to 4.0 Final works. And trunk for 4.1.0 and still not merged with last fixes and updates.
that's really strange.. I believed that it should not require authentification... try to use jboss credentials.. you should be able to checkout but not commit using that url.

How about using richfaces push with Jboss AS 4?
