I have been playing with the rich:scrollableDataTable component; it clearly works but thus far I've not been able to achieve what I would consider snappy performance during scrolling. My test data set contains about 5,000 records from an SQL Server database; in production I would expect this to be closer to 50,000 records.

Can anyone offer hints and tips on how to improve performance?
