    JK Connector on AIX

    app2srv

      Hi,

We're migrating a JBoss environment from Solaris to AIX.  I can't find JK Connector for AIX binaries.  The default location http://www.apache.org/dist/tomcat/tomcat-connectors/jk/binaries/aix/ is empty.  Will I have to compile the binary from source by myself (it's a headache on AIX), or there is a place I can download them from?

      Thanks a lot!

We don't have yet a aix bundles. Which version do you have?

            Solaris-10 (current):

                JBoss-4.0.5.GA

                Web Server version: Apache/2.0.63

                JK Connector version: mod_jk/1.2.26

            Moving to:

                 AIX-6.1

                JBoss-4.0.5.GA

                 IBM_HTTP_Server/7.0.0.0

We need load balancing for two JBoss instances.  I found a recommendation to use mod_proxy_ajp with apache-2.2, but mod_jk would be more preferrable.

            Thank you.

IBM_HTTP_Server/7.0.0.0 ask IBM for mod_jk (I though they used to have it with their http server).

              otherwise use mod_proxy.

I've got IHS-7 installed, it doesn't contain mod_jk.  But you're right - IHS-7 is based on Apache 2.2, so its mod_proxy should support load balancing.

                I'll give it a try.

                Thanks again!

Actually, IHS-7 comes with mod_proxy_ajp.so, for some reason it's under WebSphereCE:

                  /usr/IBM/HTTPServer/modules/WebSphereCE/mod_proxy_ajp.so

I'll see if that one works either.
