Hi all, hoping you can shed some light on an issue that is plaging us and we cant find reason/solutions.
We have JBOSS 4.2.3 running on Solaris 10 Kernel 142900-14 and we suffer massive performance degradation and connection issues with FIN_WAIT, CLOSE_WAITS a plenty.
We have run other kernels and have no issues, performance is good and no connection issues.
We have native installed (as this resolved many peoples issues with connection issues) and have tried multiple installations/servers etc. We took a working server with kernel Generic_118833-22 and upgraded it to Generic_142900-14 and nothing else and this caused it to slow down and have connection issues.
So now we know the kernel version is the issue do you have any ideas why this kernel is causing these issues?
Server: SunOS 5.10 Generic_142900-14 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V490
Java: Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_21-b06)
Found the cause, the apr libraries provided in native 2.0.9 package do not interact well with Solaris 10 kernel 142900-14.
I updated the apr library to apr 1.4.5 and aprutil 1.3.12 from here: http://apr.apache.org/download.cgi
Now its working perfectly!
