    Slow shutdown in JBoss 5

I'm using JBoss 5.1.0GA. I've implemented some custom code as for when I call shutdown my jobs will stop followed by the MDB's and then the EJB's.

Though I do not get any errors on JBoss shutdown when I have work in progrress and I call shutdown on JBoss it takes a very long time until JBoss finally stops(the average time to stop is about 30 minutes).

What I would like to know is that if an EJB has work-in-progress when shutdown is called, what is the default behaviour ? Will JBoss wait for the EJB to finish properly its work until it stops that EJB ? This is the only idea I can have regarding why I am getting these huge stopping times.

      Thank you.
