Yes, I did got it working! I changed the RichFaces version to 3.3.3. Also, there were a problem with nested containers. There were a <a4j:region /> with some nested <a4j:outputPanel />. And this was preventing ajax to correctly perform the request.
We removed the <a4j:region /> and switched some <a4j:outputPanel /> to <h:panelGroup />. Those which did not really need ajax requests.
I hope you get it working too. It was getting me crazy!
