prasad.deshpande Jan 17, 2012 6:38 AM (in response to jaikiran)Hi Jaikiran,
Here is the snapshot & HTML output of the JProfiler v7.0.1. Please let me know if you need any more information. I'd meanwhile try to pull out data again for 7.0.2 just to compare. I have .jps file, but it's too big to upload over here (64M).

17. Re: Performance drop in nightly builds?
jaikiran Jan 17, 2012 7:30 AM (in response to prasad.deshpande)For JBoss AS 7.1.0.CR1b, inn your EJB jar, can you add a jboss-ejb-client.xml in the META-INF folder which contains this:
<jboss-ejb-client xmlns="urn:jboss:ejb-client:1.0"> <client-context> <ejb-receivers local-receiver-pass-by-value="false"/> </client-context> </jboss-ejb-client>
Let us know if you see improvement in the performance numbers.

18. Re: Performance drop in nightly builds?
prasad.deshpande Jan 17, 2012 8:18 AM (in response to jaikiran)Found the culprit.. It's infinispan 5.3CR3. Few days ago I updated infinispan from 4.2.1.Final to 5.3CR3 in my application. I also ship all necessary lib's in EAR (so don't use infinispan with jboss7.1) . I reverted back application to use 4.2.1 & numbers are back to earlier ones.
I just noticed this one.. https://issues.jboss.org/browse/AS7-2903. Manik has fixed something for the performance, but I couldn't get infinispan nightly build to test with that fix he made.
Just from AS7 application point of view, this might really affect performance if jboss7.1 is using infinispan 5.x.x.?

19. Re: Performance drop in nightly builds?
jaikiran Jan 17, 2012 8:23 AM (in response to prasad.deshpande)I'm not sure (based on the profiling output you attached and the example you explained) how Infinispan plays a role in this usecase. So I don't really know what the issue is.

20. Re: Performance drop in nightly builds?
prasad.deshpande Jan 17, 2012 8:31 AM (in response to jaikiran)Me neither.. but the fact is as soon as I reverted back infinispan related jars, test timing came back to what I was expecting.. I just got a message from Manik about CR4 of 5.1.0 being released with fixes, I'll try with that too just to see what's happening. Will keep you posted.
