2. Re: Seam 3 are not in JBoss Community Maven Repository
hotribao Sep 2, 2011 3:43 AM (in response to hotribao)Where should I look for after going one level up to find seam-3'artifact? As you can see on the maven message in my initial post: maven cannot download jboss-seam-3.0.0.Final.pom file from:
Then I go to https://repository.jboss.org/nexus/content/groups/public/org/jboss/seam/ to check, I cannot find any version 3.0.0.Final
My maven artifact configuration is as following:
<dependency> <groupId>org.jboss.seam</groupId> <artifactId>jboss-seam</artifactId> <version>3.0.0.Final</version> <type>jar</type> </dependency>
Did I make any mistake in my maven configuation?

3. Re: Seam 3 are not in JBoss Community Maven Repository
lightguard Sep 2, 2011 3:51 AM (in response to hotribao)what is it you are looking for? Seam 3 is vastly different from Seam 2 and is not a drop in replacement. Seam 3 is also modular and there is no
uberjar
with all the modules. The URL I pasted in the previous post will list all the modules such as faces, persistence, catch, rest, etc. -

hotribao Sep 2, 2011 4:51 AM (in response to hotribao)It is true that I coming from seam 2 and trying to upgrade to seam 3. Now, I've learn that
Seam 3 is vastly different from Seam 2 and is not a drop in replacement
. Could you guide me how can I make an upgrade or pointing me to the corresponding?More concretely, in seam 2, I am using the following modules:
<artifactId>jboss-seam</artifactId> <artifactId>jboss-seam-ioc</artifactId> <artifactId>jboss-seam-ui</artifactId> <artifactId>jboss-seam-remoting</artifactId>
how can I setup my maven POM so that I can have an equivalent features in seam 3?
This is a document (http://seamframework.org/Seam3/Seam2ToSeam3MigrationNotes), but it doesn't mention POM migration.

5. Re: Seam 3 are not in JBoss Community Maven Repository
lightguard Sep 2, 2011 3:47 PM (in response to hotribao)- seam-ioc (spring integration) - There's a new Seam Spring module on the left, check that out.
- seam - This is now Weld or another CDI implementation, I suggest looking at the Weld Docs
- seam-ui - Partially Richfaces 4.0 and partially Seam Faces
- seam-remoting - There is a new Seam Remoting module
Setting up the pom is basically including the seam-bom pom artifact in the dependencyManagement section, then including the needed seam modules in the dependencies section. The booking example demonstrates some of these.

hantsy Sep 2, 2011 10:43 PM (in response to hotribao)many seam ui components are not available in Seam3... The following are my favorite in Seam 2 application.
s:fileUpload
s:cache
s:selectItems
s:entityConverter
s:enumConverter
s:resource
s:download
s:graphicImageexcel and pdf export and sending mails

7. Re: Seam 3 are not in JBoss Community Maven Repository
lightguard Sep 2, 2011 11:42 PM (in response to hotribao)Yes, we know.
Some of them exist with RichFaces, use those. If it isn't there in RichFaces they may be picked up by other Seam 3 modules, or by community members.
