Wow, I'm speechless, and very happy for the SpringSource team, they all worked so hard over the years! And this is way more than JBoss sold for but in a far worse economic time. Congrats Rod and team!!!

Unlikely. I don't think Oracle thinks JBoss is currently a big enough threat to warrant a buy & extinguish

I don't think the price tag came that much from the Spring technology, I think the big bucks were spent for the brand and the loyal fanbois :-)

Anyway, a nice paycheck for Rod and the VC that originally invested time and money in it.
