1. Re: first JEE without unanimous approval?
asookazian Dec 2, 2009 8:31 PM (in response to asookazian)SAP AG:
However, we are disappointed that Sun Microsystems as the Spec Lead of the Java EE 6 specification has not managed to produce the promised
full license terms
of the Java EE 6 TCK until the begin of the two week voting window for Java EE 6. Given the complexity of this license, we are unfortunately not in a position to complete a thorough legal review. At a minimum, we would expect that the TCK is not used to prevent access to the Java marketplace, including open source implementations. This JSR has been filed in July 2007; we believe there would have been ample time to share and discuss the proposed full license terms with the community.in any event, I'm excited that it's final! now when will JBoss 6 go GA/final release?

3. Re: first JEE without unanimous approval?
asookazian Dec 2, 2009 8:39 PM (in response to asookazian)you're right, so the statement is not true since J2EE 1.3 (but maybe it is when only considering JEE 5 and JEE 6).
In any event, I noticed that SpringSource did not vote for EE6. If they voted no I would not be surprised...

5. Re: first JEE without unanimous approval?
nickarls Dec 2, 2009 8:44 PM (in response to asookazian)If they vote yes, they show support. If they vote no, people think they do so because of the competition. If they abstain, they look silly and people still think they do so because of the competition. Like Gavin said, their mission of
opening up the JCP
has been a joke. Hey, I want to be a member too, I know how to abstain from voting!
