Well, in order to enable Seam to execute bijection (and other things) you'll need to make your class a Seam component (@Name).
Otherwise: Yes.
Even though I have to admit that I'm not 100% sure about your example, but I know that this works:
@In(value = "#{messages.propMailSenderAddress}") private static String mailSenderAddress;

you might try
Messages.instance().get("propMailSenderAddress")
The .instance() works for most of SEAM's beans.
