All you have to do, probably, is to use <s:convertDateTime> instead of <f:convertDateTime>.

stefanotravelli Jan 31, 2009 6:28 PM (in response to philip142au.philip_andrew.hotmail.com)I think you can set the default value in components.xml, if that was your question:
<international:time-zone-selector time-zone-id="gmt+8"/>

zzzz8.zzzz8.netzero.net Feb 4, 2009 2:52 AM (in response to philip142au.philip_andrew.hotmail.com)Are you thinking about somehow dynamically retrieving a user's time zone? For example, one client may be located in Hong Kong, another may be in London, another may be in Los Angeles. I don't think there's anything that can dynamically do that (at least in Seam). The user would have to use a timezone picker as suggested by another forum member in this thread. It would be nice if we could have a time zone component that automatically retrieves and stores the client's time zone without having the user go through a time zone picker. I'm sure it could be done...

philip142au.philip_andrew.hotmail.com Feb 4, 2009 10:08 AM (in response to philip142au.philip_andrew.hotmail.com)Hi Tathagat,
You mean your in Hong Kong or you mean you have the same problem?! :)
I created a Seam class
@Name("orsamgr") @Scope(ScopeType.APPLICATION) public class OrsaMgr { public TimeZone getTimeZone() { return TimeZone.getTimeZone("Hongkong"); } }
So I use this class in my pages, sadly I have just deleted my pages due to having to start again. I'll tell you how I did it later shortly.
Thanks, Philip
