im developing an onscreen keyboard for a touch screen application.  its basically an array of input buttons with some javascript behind it, heavily using jquery.  my problem is when i put that keyboard in to my xhtml pages, it doesn't render the background images of the keys the way it should.  it just gives me the i guess, seam default style.  ive checked my stylesheet and all and its correct there.  the html file in the root of the app renders perfectly, but the xhtml doesn't give me background images. 

any ideas?
