2.1.1.GA and 4.2.2.GA, just out of curiosity:

Any theories why binding a entity manager factory in persistence.xml and using a SMPC persistence-unit-jndi-name lookup results in it not being found in JNDI in debug mode? If a do the extra step of creating a persistence:entity-manager-factory and referencing it stuff works OK.

Is it just something with my setup or has anyone else seen this?
