ViewExpiredException

Hi,
How to catch the ViewExpiredException in the java class ?.I have two application running in my project.For the first application i am using the pages.xml to redirect to some page after viewExpiredException occurs.But for another application i need to catch that in my java class. Can any one help me out to come over this problem.

in pages.xml
<exception class="javax.faces.application.ViewExpiredException">
<redirect view-id="#{handlerActionName.method()}"/>
</exception>

in the method write your logic to redirect to the required page.
