1. Re: HornetQ production ready?
clebert.suconic Sep 8, 2009 3:57 PM (in response to daggerrz)As any Beta we wouldn't recommend for production, unless you test it well and make sure the system is stable for your use case.

ataylor Sep 9, 2009 4:07 AM (in response to daggerrz)As Clebert has already said any beta would need to be tested thoroughly by yourselves, however it is very easily embeddable, take a look at http://hornetq.blogspot.com/2009/09/hornetq-simple-example-using-maven.html.
we also have configurable redelivery semantics, take a look at http://hornetq.sourceforge.net/docs/hornetq-2.0.0.BETA5/user-manual/en/html_single/index.html#undelivered-messages -
3. Re: HornetQ production ready?
daggerrz Sep 11, 2009 9:40 AM (in response to daggerrz)Sorry for the late response to this - email notification doesn't seem to work. :)
Thanks for the reply - of course beta software must be treated as beta software, I was more interested in the general maturity of the project. Messaging systems have a lot of corner cases and are hard to do right, as ActiveMQ has shown. ;) The architecture of ActiveMQ is great, but they have been slapping new features on it all the time instead of making sure the basic things work.
Anyways, we'll take a look! -
4. Re: HornetQ production ready?
ataylor Sep 11, 2009 9:54 AM (in response to daggerrz)Ok, well HornetQ has some history behind it going back a few years now to about 2006, previously JBoss Messaging. We have spent a lot of effort making sure we cover as much as possible from a functionality point of view without ignoring quality issues so we reckon the product is pretty strong.
Any feedback would be much appreciated and if you have any issues at all we can usually help you out and fix them pretty quickly. -
