Host controller, Domain controller and the configurations.

Hi There,

Could you please give me some knowledge about the Host controller, Domain Controller.

My questions are

1. If JBoss Console goes down what are the precautions we need to take? [in case of Admin console / Exception Log]

2. If Host controller goes down - what happens to the instance?

3. If Server goes down - what happens to the instance?

4. If Domain goes down - what happens to the instance?

5. How to configure (Domain & Host.xml)?

Could some please help me out in this regard..

Hi Sunil,
I move your thread to the AS7 space because it is the better location, domain controller has nothing to do with clustering.

I will give you a quick answer to your questions.

If you start AS7 in domain mode there are different processes. Each instance, you might have the domain-controller and many host-controller, starts a process-controller, host-controller and 0-n servers.
If a controller crashes it will be automaticaly restarted.

so in case of 2./3./4. the process is restarted, only in case of 3. you might have impacts to your application.
You should read the admin documentation for domain and the getting started guide, also try bin/domain.sh on a fresh installation it will start a domain with 2 servers.
