terminology confusion (embedded, managed, local, remote, …)

Hi Folks. I'm thinking about using Arquillian, but I'm confused about terminology. What is the standard for the different kinds of test-container configurations? It seems inconsistent. For example, http://mvnrepository.com/artifact/org.jboss.arquillian.container lists "remote", "embedded", "managed", and "local", but yet I found "in-container" and "out-of-container" testing mentioned elsewhere. Sorry if this is a FAQ.

Local was used a long time ago, but has been replaced by Managed.

Embedded, Managed, Remote says something about how Arquillian interact with the Container.

in-container and run as client (out-of-container) refer to how the Test is ran. Will it be inside the container with access to the containers internals, or will it run as a client.
