It still comes with hsqldb. I think firebird, mysql, and postgres are all easy to install on linux, and at least some of them (firebird) easy to install on windows (I have no experience with the others on windows)
Cool, thanks! It´s just because I downloaded the beta-Version and I did´t find any special directory in the "db"-Dir in the installation. Unfortunately the HyperSonic doesn´t exist anymore...
???? Hypersonic was renamed/improved to hsqldb long ago in 2.x times
Check that you have hsqldb-default-service.xml in the deploy directory and check your startup log for errors, and check port 8082 for hsqldb related mbeans

I didn´t know that it was renamed. In my 2.4.4-installation it is still calles "Hypersonic".
Do you also know if there is a gui available for hsqldb?
