jaikiran Sep 8, 2008 5:14 AM (in response to omerlin)Is the WAR part of the EAR? Or is it deployed separately?

omerlin Sep 8, 2008 5:26 AM (in response to omerlin)Hello,
The war is deployed separately because the ear must be highly available (it acts as service) although the war contains only a GUI (wich must be patched / updated separately)

alesj Sep 8, 2008 8:39 AM (in response to omerlin)War is eventually deployed as MBean,
Hence you might be able to declare dependency on it.
But I would need to look into the code on how this is exactly done.
If you can check that would be great,
or let me know if you fail to find it. -

omerlin Sep 8, 2008 9:17 AM (in response to omerlin)Hello,
Sorry i don't know where to find this - i'm not used to deployment dependencies in Jboss (i'm studying the migration from Glassfish to Jboss)
My problem is that i'm able to deploy manually.
First ear, Second war - It works.
But afterwards i can't restart the server - the war tries to deploy first.
I can perhaps change the deployement order - i saw some threads with this.
but i suppose i should wait CR2 as i'm still in Beta4 (and can't go to CR1 because of EJBTHREE-1434).
In Beta4, you have not the deployers.xml file so not the possibility to change the LegacyDeployment Order as you described in forum http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&t=138587&start=30
That's why the explicit dependy would have be a good alternative.
Tell me if i should wait until CR2.

alesj Sep 8, 2008 9:44 AM (in response to omerlin)I'll try to find what can be done.
But I remember a discussion about .xar <--> .xar dependencies, where Adrian explained how this is a bad thing. :-)
Let me try to find that as well:

Yup, that would be good.
So that we can talk about the same thing. :-) -
7. Re: Explicit dependencies in JBOSS AS5
peterj Sep 8, 2008 1:17 PM (in response to omerlin)One simple thing that could be done - create a deploy.last directory within the deploy directory, and place the war file there. It should then be deployed last (after the ear).

omerlin Sep 9, 2008 4:03 AM (in response to omerlin)Hello,
thanks for the idea but it do not work for me on Beta4.
I will wait until CR2 delivery or try an intermediary build
rgds,
