Ok, haven't seen that. I added the issue to the thread.
I don't like that the javax.net.ssl.keyStore* properties are used instead of the javax.net.ssl.trustStore* properties. Also javax.net.ssl.keyStoreType is not used, so you have to use the default JKS format.
I think it would be better to check the connector SSL settings first, if they do not work or aren't defined fall back to context = SSLContext.getDefault();
