I tried version M3 and I feel I have gone backwards. I am not even able to click on the second tab (buildings).  It does not respond.  You can just update the pom.xml file in the project above (that I posted)   as shown below and deploy it to your own box.  I also tried the 4.3.0.M on the original (more complex non-simplified program that does not use rich:tabPanel) and it does Not resolve our issue. Our tables are still  not rendered properly.

T hank you for replying to my message.  I had tried 4.3.0.M3 in the maven build (maven actually pulls 4.3.0.20121214-M3 ) as described above.  I have already indicated that this verseion of RichFaces does not resolve this issue.  Is there a specific version of 4.3.0.M3 that I should try.
I have provided instruction above (earlier in this thread)  to build the sample project with 4.3.0.20121214-M3 to show that 4.3.0.M3 build does not resolve this bug
