JBPM 5.4 on Mac OSX Mountain Lion

    Michael Harper Newbie

I recently downloaded the full installer for JBPM 5.4 and first installed on a mac book pro (winter 2011 model i7, osx mountain lion) and I've had the following issues with a clean install running ant start.demo.noeclipse

      With Safari, google, mozilla browsers

Note, the same install on bootcamp under windows 8 runs perfectly but our development team works on Mac's the majority of the time.

1  In drools guvnor under knowledge bases when trying to create a package I get a message telling me there was an error because I am not connected to the server although the package name save's correctly

2  Process diagram details are not being saved. They appear to save properly but are empty when re-opened.

3  Process diagrams appear all black (no colours of any kind) and are hard to read.

      In the logs I am getting a lot of these kinds of errors;

      Any help would be appreciated.

Running on OSX as well and did not experience any problems. Could you clean the demo (ant clean.demo) and re-install it once again (ant install.demo.noeclipse). Then start the demo environment (ant start.demo.noeclipse) and then perform the activities that lead to a failure. Once you encounter the error please make a copy of server.log and upload it here. Additionally if you could describe step by step what you did to encounter this error. That can help to try to reproduce it on my side so hopefully that can give us some useful information.

          Cheers

            Thank you Maciej,

            The steps I ran this morning were;

            ant clean.demo

            ant install.demo.noeclipse

            ant start.demo.noeclipse

I then added an admin user to jboss using the add-user.sh program so I could see installed modules.

Checked that drools-guvnor was running by opening it.

Checked that jbpm-console was running by opening it.

Went back into drools-guvnor and switched to Knowledge bases and added a new package jbpm5

Added a new bpmn process with a start node, generic process and end node and tried to save it (note diagam components are all in black which is especially bad with flow where you can only see the arrow head)

Tried to save the diagram but when it re-opened it was empty. Error messages similar to above.

I have noticed quite a lot of errors in the log apart from those above. Perhaps these might indicate something; The last one seems the most relevant, but the others are a bit worrying.

I believe this is the only error that is relevant here causing problems when saving process. The only thing that comes to my mind is that there is something (like firewall) that does not allow to access guvnor or somehow alters the request. Do you have anything od that sort?

                No we don't.

It does look like there is some interference. If I find out what's causing it I'll post the detail.

from org.jbpm.integration.console.shared.GuvnorConnectionUtils we can find a method guvnorExists:

                      Margus Roo Newbie

Did a new install. Like described - http://docs.jboss.org/jbpm/v5.1/userguide/ch03.html#d0e402

Could not get eclipse so I did ant install.demo.noeclipse - BUID was OK.

                      Now start:

                      margusja@IRack:~/Downloads/jbpm-installer$ ant start.demo.noeclipse

                      Buildfile: /Users/margusja/Downloads/jbpm-installer/build.xml

                      download.db.driver.check:

[echo] Checking if db driver jar has been downloaded ....//db/driver/h2.jar

                      download.db.driver:

                      start.h2.check:

[echo] Checking if h2 db should be started ...

                      start.h2:

                      start.jboss:

                      check.jboss.version:

                      start.jboss5:

                      check.jboss.version:

                      start.jboss7:

                      start.demo.noeclipse:

                      BUILD SUCCESSFUL

                      Total time: 1 second

                      But there no jboss process:

after it I run a command:

I don't have eclipse binary ./eclipse/Eclipse.app/Contents/MacOS/eclipse but I can't start ant start.demo.noeclipse. If I use noeclipse then there won't be jboss thred.

                            But start.demo works anyway:
