jayshaughnessy Feb 12, 2013 9:54 AM (in response to arun2arunraj)1 of 1 people found this helpfulThe MySQL and Postgres plugins are different, so what you can do with Postgres you may not be able to do with MySQL.
Looking at the Postgres plugin I see that there are Table resources. And Table resources have metrics defined for Row Inserts and various other changes to the rows in the table.
By creating an alert template on the Table resource type, with conditions involving the relevant metrics, you will get alert definitions defined for every Table resource. Assuming you can define an alert template with condtions that satisfy your needs, this should work.
Of course, you're welcome to make additions/changes to the plugins, as you see fit. And use those changes locally in your environment. And if you think it's a good general enhancement you can always submit back to the project.

pilhuhn Feb 13, 2013 3:11 AM (in response to arun2arunraj)1 of 1 people found this helpfulHave a look at this wiki entry about such a query in postgres https://docs.jboss.org/author/display/RHQ/Postgres+-+Query+Service
The MySQL plugin probably does not have that.
You can extend/improve that plugin though like you have developed the httpcheck plugin from the "How to write a plugin" PDF.
I think you should have a look at the java code and plugin descriptor of the postgres plugin and adapt it for the mysql one.
While we can for sure give you hints or help with finding issues, there are no "simple codes" that we can just copy&paste here.

arun2arunraj Feb 13, 2013 4:56 AM (in response to pilhuhn)Hi Heiko Rupp,
I understand. Is there any video or written document for accessing database. If you have anything please share it with me. That would be a great thankful help for me to developing my own custom application.
