is there a 7.2 prerelease announcement?

Hello,

since 5 days there is a 7.2.0.Final-prerelease1 tag in the Git repository - and a switch to 8.0.0.Alpha1-SNAPSHOT on master.

But I havent been able to locate anny announcement in the User- or Developer Forum, not even on the Developer mailing list or the JBoss Blog[1] (there is a weekly post which does not mention anything like prereleases).

Where would be the right place to get information about such events?

Funny thing is, there is not even a prerelease1 in Jira, it only knows about Alpha and CR. This is rather confusing, especially for users who cant follow the developer mailinglist daily. Can you point me to a release schedule/plan?

So from the limited communications I have seen (Marc's Blog post here: https://community.jboss.org/blogs/mark.little/2013/03/07/eap-binaries-available-for-all-developers#comment-11750) it looks like no community releases will happen anymore. Only EAP releases, which are aligned with the community repository. EAP 6.1.ALPHA is similiar to 7.2.0.Final (and the latest official release is EAP 6.0.1 which is based on 7.1.3.Final).

What hurts most is that Redhat is deprecating the use of comunity versions and calling them Alpha (as described here: http://www.jboss.org/jbossas/faq). I can understand the plan is to monetize the community more. But what happens is, that it drives away ISVs which want to use componets (not products).
