Are you sure that all Objects referenced by the Vector are Serializable?
Thanks for your response. The objects referenced by Vector are serializable. I have started facing this issue after upgrading JDK to 1.7. If i replace Vector with ArrayList/List or downgrade jdk to 1.6, everything works.

sounds like an JDK bug, you might try former version or test the next update if you need to stay with Vector
BTW if you do not need to synchronize the Collection for multithread access I would use ArrayList instead. If you use it I would only provide 'List' to be independent from implementation details.
Don't think it is a jdk bug bacause if my client program runs outside jboss, everything works. Only when it runs inside jboss, it fails.
For now, i have converted the remote EJB call to local EJB call as the client and service both are deployed inside the same container Things are working for me now.
