jboss server stops responding to requests after few days.

jboss server stops responding few days from the startup time. There is no fixed number of days or hours, it seems to be happening randomly and only fix is to restart the server. Is there a setting or option that could be used to monitor the health/wellness of server?

So the OS is running?
Stops responding to what? Mgmt operation/http/ejb/etc?
What does heap usage and cpu usage look look?
What AS version?

Regarding monitoring, I usually setup my own bash script to periodically collect all interesting metrics.
