I'm not sure what is RMIObjectPort. It has nothing to do with HOrnetQ?
The RMIObjectPort is the inner RMI port that the RMI service uses on the RMI registry.
As I run HornetQ with JNDI and firewall I need a way to control the RMI service port (which is by default dynamic port).
I saw that in JBoss in order to cofigure the RMI service port I need to set value to RMIObjectPort see here , and I saw in the hornetq documentation that the needed configuration file is on file hornetq-service.sar - but I can't find it there (on this page)
So, how could I define the RMI service port on order to use standalone hornetq with JNDI and firewall?
we currently dont expose that propery, feel free to raise a JIRA and a patch if you want, we expose the properties via StandaloneNamingServer.java and inject them from the hornetq-beans.xml config file, or write your own.
At the end I also had to use JMX (which has the same problem of dynamic port and rmi); I found this article that define how to run JMX with static ports, when I used the JMX solution, it also solved the JNDI problem
