I've created a ticket on the Jira for this problem...

[HHH-8547] Envers: unconsistent "java.sql.SQLException Invalid column name col_1_1_" - Hibernate JIRA

The SqlException is totally un-understandable, as not expressed in the original/refering traced request...

downloading the code examples, I've seen no implementation of a unidirectionnal @ManyToMany Entity relation...
