io flushing problems with jboss-cli? (Wildfly 8.0.0.Beta1)

Howdy.  I'm trying to get started with this JBoss/WildFly thing.

When I run jboss-cli.sh (in Cygwin), it says I'm disconnected and to type "help" for help.  When I do, nothing happens (nor does system utilization go up).  When I ctrl-C out of the program, the help text appears (and then my bash prompt -- not helpful).

When I try it with --connect, I get prompted for my username (which happens to be "john"), but never my password.  When I ctrl-C out of that, I get "john: command not found" from bash.

      Any ideas?
