      Hi

      RHQ version is 4.7

I have noticed this happening for JMX and Platform (Linux)  resources. The error I get is

19:05:32,913 ERROR [org.jboss.as.ejb3.invocation] (http-/0.0.0.0:7443-6) JBAS014134: EJB Invocation failed on component AlertTemplateManagerBean for method public abstract void org.rhq.enterprise.server.alert.AlertTemplateManagerLocal.updateAlertDefinitionsForResource(org.rhq.core.domain.auth.Subject,java.lang.Integer) throws org.rhq.enterprise.server.alert.AlertDefinitionCreationException,org.rhq.enterprise.server.alert.InvalidAlertDefinitionException: javax.ejb.EJBException: org.rhq.enterprise.server.alert.AlertDefinitionCreationException: Failed to create child AlertDefinition for Resource[id=10968] with template AlertDefinition[ id=10151, name=Database Failure ]

They (alert templates) seem to work on some systems but not on all. If I reconfigure an rhq agent, alert definitions are created without any errors. I can provide more info if needed.

      Thank you

I found this bug listing for this, if helpful. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=535576
