upgrading jboss Server from 4.2.3 to 6.1.0.Final

Hi All ,I am trying to upgrade JBoss server for the first time .I am running into lot of issue . Can any one please help .

Not sure what happen.
Could you elaborate what you are doing?
Is a server start without any application (after unzipping it) possible without errors?

Also why you migrate to AS6, I would recommend to use AS7 or WildFly8, which is the follower of jbossAS - only a renaming.

Thanks for replying.
I was able to start the server without any application.I am trying to deploy an ear file .I am taking baby steps while migrating .First i want to move it to 6 and then to 7.
Can you please help me

I would not use AS6.
If you will have baby steps might be AS4->AS5 and then to AS7 or Wildfly.

What kind of application do you have?
