EJB Remote Invocation with Jboss AS 7 from non jboss application server

Is it possible to do an ejb remote invocation from another application server (non jboss) to an ejb deployed on jboss AS7. In the documentation, we can do EJB invocation in 2 different ways "thru pure client" and

from "jboss as7 to another jboss as7". If the call is coming from an application deployed on another application server (non jboss), can we use the "client" approach just like how it was with earlier version of jboss ie (jboss 4.2.3)

You can use the ejb-client and the remote-naming approach, "as7 to another as7" is not usable in your use-case.
The invocation is different to former JBoss versions, you need to change your code for this. You should use the ejb-client (EJB invocations from a remote client using JNDI) approach, remote-naming is not recommended for ejb invocations.
