How does WindUp report if an application can't be migrated to JBoss?

      Hi,

WindUp is a good tool to know "potential" changes required while migrating an application to JBoss (AS / EAP).

However Can WindUp report if an application can't be migrated to JBoss?

For one of the PoC where application running on Weblogic was to migrate to JBoss EAP.

Due to some compiler issue with Weblogic, it became difficult for the team (unless Oracle provides some patch).

So on similar lines, can WindUp highlight scenarios where migration is possible?

      Regards,

          Hi Naishadh Sevalia,

principially, all Java EE applications should be migratable (IMHO). What's the question is the effort necessary.

One of Windup's tasks is to help estimate that effort.

Of course, apps can be considered "not worth migrating" if the effort would be too large.

But more often case is that the migration effort is unknown, and therefore the risk is higher.

We hope that Windup will help to eliminate that situation.

          Hope that helps.
