2. Re: DB-Independent configuration
sbrbot Aug 18, 2004 5:02 PM (in response to ebarendt)Yes, theoretically specifying database mapping is optional in JBoss deployment descriptor but if you do not specify it, JBoss will take default database mapping from standardjbosscmp-jdbc.xml and it is Hypersonic SQL mapping. So if you do not use Hypersonic DB then practically it is not optional.

3. Re: DB-Independent configuration
ebarendt Aug 18, 2004 8:49 PM (in response to ebarendt)It seems like the *-ds.xml file would be a better place to specify what datasource-mapping to use.
If you have a postgres-ds.xml file, it could have the tag for PostgreSQL, or if you have one an oracle-ds.xml, you'd have the mapping for that there, etc.
Is there a reason this isn't the case? -

ebarendt Aug 23, 2004 12:06 PM (in response to ebarendt)Is this something that's addressed in JBoss 4.0? I could work on a patch for the 3.2 series. Not sure how difficult it would be, but I'd be willing to look into it.
