Looking for a Unix build while building on Mac!

after a successful build on Mac I look at the following zip:

~/dev/workspace/fuse/fabric/fmc-distro/target/fmc-99-master-SNAPSHOT.zip

which seems to be a Windows build (because of the *.bat files inside the bin folder). Any idea how I can build for Unix having shell scripts under the bin folder? The maven-assembly-plugin should actually create Unix builds per default on Mac, but got no idea why it creates Windows builds! It's a kind of strange...

There should also be a .tar.gz in the same "target" directory. The build produces .zip for windows and .tar.gz for UNIX/Mac.
