JBoss EAP based on WildFly

Hi all,

when can we expect a release of JBoss EAP which is based on WildFly? I don't need an exact date. Something like this year or first quarter of the next year would be sufficient. Thanks in advance!

Sorry, but we don't have a public roadmap for a version of EAP based upon WildFly yet.

So from your answer I conclude that you have already at least a closed roadmap and according to the email of Jason T. Green ([wildfly-dev] WildFly Schedule & Goals Update) the JBoss EAP 6.4 will be based on WildFly 9.0 which will be released this year in November.

So can you at least tell whether the EAP 6.4 will be released this year or next year?

EAP 6.4 will not be release until 2015, but it will not be rebased upon WildFly 9. WildFly 8 and 9 target the EE 7 specification and EAP 6 remains targeted at the EE 6 specification. EAP 7 will rebase on WildFly and will target EE 7.

Jason did mention in his email that WF 9 would contain EAP 6.4 RFEs. All EAP work is done upstream, and we selectively port the features back to the current EAP stream as required by the EAP roadmap without rebasing.
