    Migrating seam web app to jboss eap 6, deploy with no error but do not work

    magnus Fer Newbie

      I'm migrating my seam web application from jboss 5 to jboss eap 6.

      As I was following the migration guide I could deploy with no errors but when I try to access the application through the browser I get this:

      JBWEB000065: HTTP Status 404 - /myapp

      JBWEB000309: type JBWEB000067: Status report

      JBWEB000068: message /myapp

      JBWEB000069: description JBWEB000124: The requested resource is not available.

      Any suggestion?

      I'm trying to deploy to JBoss EAP 6.3.1.GA

      my app uses:

      Seam 2.2.2.Final

      richfaces: 3.3.3.Final

      jsf: 1.2

      Hibernate Validator 3.1.0.GA

      I don't think these errors are the reason I can't access the application, but I have no idea what to do. I would like some suggestion.

          Are you sure the app was deployed with success? Please, change the log back to INFO and attach here the server.log after the wildfly is started.

            Now that you asked, I don't know exactly what it was supposed to show. I'm adding both log (info and debug).

            Thanks for helping.

              Rafael Chies Novice

              Looking in the log you sent, your EAP has not been started with success, see:

              ERROR [org.jboss.as] (Controller Boot Thread) JBAS015875: JBoss EAP 6.3.1.GA (AS 7.4.1.Final-redhat-3) iniciado (com erros) em 7493ms - Iniciado 759 de serviços 815 (35 serviços falharam ou faltam dependência, os serviços 85 são lazy, passivos ou em demanda)

              This is the reason your application is not accessible.

              The log is a little bit confuse for me, as it's translated to portuguese, and the translation is terrible! But, it appears your datasource jboss/datasources/MyAppDS is missing the driver oracle.

              service jboss.jdbc-driver.oracle (faltam) dependentes: [service jboss.driver-demander.java:jboss/datasources/MyAppDS, service jboss.data-source.java:jboss/datasources/MyAppDS]

              Have you defined the driver and also created the module?

              Attaching here your standalone.xml can help to discover that, if you need.

                I have already created the module,

                     <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

                     <module xmlns="urn:jboss:module:1.1" name="com.oracle">

                       <resources>

                         <resource-root path="ojdbc14.jar"/>

                       </resources>

                       <dependencies>

                         <module name="javax.api"/>

                         <module name="javax.transaction.api"/>

                       </dependencies>

                     </module>

                and the definition of datasource is:

                       <subsystem xmlns="urn:jboss:domain:datasources:1.2">

                            <datasources>

                                <datasource jndi-name="java:jboss/datasources/MyAppDS" pool-name="MyAppDS" enabled="true">

                                    <connection-url>jdbc:oracle:thin:@</connection-url>

                                    <driver>oracle</driver>

                                    <security>

                                        <user-name>aa</user-name>

                                        <password>aa</password>

                                    </security>

                                    <validation>

                                        <valid-connection-checker class-name="org.jboss.jca.adapters.jdbc.extensions.oracle.OracleValidConnectionChecker"/>

                                        <background-validation>true</background-validation>

                                        <stale-connection-checker class-name="org.jboss.jca.adapters.jdbc.extensions.oracle.OracleStaleConnectionChecker"/>

                                        <exception-sorter class-name="org.jboss.jca.adapters.jdbc.extensions.oracle.OracleExceptionSorter"/>

                                    </validation>

                                </datasource>

                        </datasources>

                  But where is the driver definition in standalone.xml?

                  You are saying that you want to use driver oracle:

                     <driver>oracle</driver>

                  But you haven't defined the driver, at least you didn't paste it. This is the reason I asked you to attach the entire standalone.xml. Look an example in my standlone.xml, where I have defined 3 drivers:

                               <datasources>

                                 ............

                                 <drivers>

                                      <driver name="h2" module="com.h2database.h2">

                                          <xa-datasource-class>org.h2.jdbcx.JdbcDataSource</xa-datasource-class>

                                      </driver>

                                      <driver name="mysql" module="com.mysql">

                                          <driver-class>com.mysql.jdbc.Driver</driver-class>

                                      </driver>

                                      <driver name="oracle" module="com.oracle.ojdbc6">

                                          <xa-datasource-class>oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver</xa-datasource-class>

                                      </driver>

                                  </drivers>

                              </datasources>

                    I didn't have the driver defined. But after I put the definition the log still shows the same error.

                      Thanks man!

                      You found the cause of the problem, but the correct definition for me was:

                           <driver name="oracleDriver" module="com.oracle.ojdbc">

                      <driver-class>oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver</driver-class>

                      <xa-datasource-class>oracle.jdbc.xa.OracleXADataSource</xa-datasource-class>
                           </driver>

                        Yeap, it has to hold the module name that you have created. I my case was com.oracle.ojdbc6

                        Good that this worked.

                        Regards,
