JBoss Fails to Stop Without Error

    gbradley17 Newbie

I am having some issues with my installation of JBoss. When running the server through JBoss Developer Studio or running JBoss as a Windows service, it fails to shut down without an error.

In JBoss Developer Studio I receive a popup telling me "'Stopping JBoss EAP 6.3' has encountered a problem. Server JBoss EAP 6.3 failed to stop." Expanding the Details, all it says is "Server JBoss EAP 6.3 failed to stop". Attempting to stop it a second time however, successfully stops the server.

When attempting to stop the service running the JBoss application, it sits and eventually times out running the shutdown command. We've been able to get around this by using a Java Service Wrapper, however that is not an ideal solution and I would like to think that there is a way to run the service correctly without the need for a wrapper. Any advice on how this should be set up or why these errors are happening would be greatly appreciated.

      Environment versions:

JBoss EAP 6.3.3.GA (AS 7.4.3.Final-redhat-2) (both local workstation & server)

Windows 7 Professional SP1 (local workstation)

JBoss Developer Studio 8.1.0.GA (local workstation)

      Java 32-bit 1.7.0_75 (local workstation)

      Windows 2008 Server R2 (server)

      Java 64-bit 1.7.0_75 (server)
