Jboss heap memory cannot upgrade beyond 3GB

Hello All,

I am using jboss 4.2.3, I am trying to upgrade the heap of jboss 4GB and the service cannot start, But when i am doing 3GB service get started. Why this behavior happens in jboss

Please suggest how to resolve this problem.

Make sure to check if you are running JBoss with 32 bit JDK as 32 bit JDK has a process limitation of 4gb. If you are running JBoss with 32bit JDK, switch to 64bit which does not have a process size limitation of 4gb.

As Priyanka suggested , try switching to 64 bit JDK and in addition to that, also please check the total RAM of your machine.
