I am currently upgrading the log4j libraries from 1.x to log4j2.8 using slf4j as facade in my webapplication deployed in Wildfly8.2
I came to know that log4j2-web is used to initialize and shut-down the log4j2 resources in webapps. Also came to know that if using slf4j, log4j2-web is not required.
Can someone clarify?
May I ask why you're using log4j if you're using slf4j? The idea behind slf4j is you don't need to worry about the back end log manager. With WildFly you can use slf4j and allow the logging subsystem to configure the log manager.
