    Migration from JBoss Portal 6.2 to JBoss EAP 7.x

      Hi All

       

      We have a complex web application hosted in JBoss Portal 6.2. As JBoss Portal 6.2 going to EOL by end of March 2018. We are planning to migrate it to JBoss EAP 7.x.

       

      We checked on Redhat and other websites, unfortunately didn't get any reference or any documentation on possibilities of this migration.

       

      Our web application is based on GateIn module, and JBoss EAP 7.x is not having GateIn configured.

       

      Just wanted to know the possibilities on this migration. if anyone have any suggestion.

          There won't be an easy way to migrate like you are asking.

           

          Enterprise Portal Platform 6 is based on EAP 6 archictecture, the EAP 7 architecture is quite different and the development has stopped a while ago so there is no plan to migrate the portal platform to EAP 7.

           

          Red Hat SSO has identity management features that may help for a transition, but your solution would have to be largely rewritten.
