Losing jndi.naming.factory.initial value?

I'm running a Swing client app (via WebStart) which uses EJBs on JBoss. The app is looking like it gets one call to the server which works, and then after that, I get an error indicating that jndi.naming.factory.initial is not set. Then again, sometimes the app runs just fine. What's the deal?

This has nothing to do with jboss.

This is almost your code.
If it is not, it is jdk issue.

With that piece of information it cannot even reach jboss code.
