    Error while creating table - Too big column length for colum

      Hi,

      I am attempting to deploy an ear that I'm porting from WebLogic to JBoss running against a mySQL 4.0.16-nt and I keep getting an exception:

      ERROR [EntityContainer] Starting failed org.jboss.deployment.DeploymentException: Error while creating table XTRIGGER; - nested throwable: (java.sql.SQLException: Invalid argument value, message from server: "Too big column length for column 'INCOMING' (max = 255). Use BLOB instead")

      I do not in fact have a table named XTRIGGER, just trigger which has the following schema:

      create table TRIGGER(
      ID BIGINT NOT NULL,
      INCOMING VARCHAR(255) UNIQUE,
      GROUPID BIGINT,
      ENGINEID BIGINT,
      primary key(ID));

      I've tried modifying the size of the String type in the jboss-3.2.3\server\adminMaster\conf\standardjbosscmp-jdbc.xml and standardjaws.xml files to no avail.

      Does anybody have any idea how I might try to solve this problem?

      Cheers,

      Jonty.
