    RMIObject port and server port

    skiitd

      Hi all,
I've a query that arises due to negligible understanding of Jboss.
Whenever I look up for an EJB and call a method on the EJB I can see a random port popping up on the jboss server besides this 4444 port. How is this RMIObject port 4444 different from a the other random server port which I believe is due to default implementation of a custom socketfactory with 0 as ServerSocket port number?
I thought that this RMIObject port is same as an RMI server object port. What's more interesting is that behnid a firewall this random port does not cause any trouble even behind a firewall if I open up the 4444 port besides the other 1099 and rmid 1098 ports.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      Sincerely,
      Surender.
