I don't know if this is possible. In fact, it may be prohibited by the spec.
My company is considering that the RMI connection creation and destruction is too heavy a performance penalty for EJB. Is there any known ways to establish a connection to an ejb, and hold that connection open? I understand that a stateful ejb will guarantee service to a specific client, but I do not get a guarantee that the connection first initiated will be the same connection used after a passivation. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
To clarify:
Essentially, we want to open a socket connection to an ejb. Is this possible?
