The scenario is the following:
o Boot my NT 4.x system
o Run the JBoss 2.4 Jetty 3.1 RC 8.1 bundle
o Request some pages via Jetty
o Stop Jboss/Jetty
o Restart Jboss/Jetty, this results in the
stacktrace shown below. The only way to restart
the JBoss/Jetty bundle properly is to reboot
my system, which takes (in my mind) forever :-(

You might want to tryy running up Jetty by itself:
cd jetty/bin
./jetty.sh start (I think)
and see if it displays the same problem.
