1. Re: Can't deploy servlet in JBoss3.2 and Tomcat
raja05 Apr 29, 2003 10:24 AM (in response to jc)Try accessing it as
http://localhost:8080/test/test/HelloWorld
the URL PAttern that you give is after the servlet context path. Your JSPs work fine as there is no mapping required for them. If you need ur URL as
http://localhost:8080/test/HelloWorld, change your
url-pattern to be
/HelloWorld

2. Re: Can't deploy servlet in JBoss3.2 and Tomcat
jc Apr 29, 2003 2:58 PM (in response to jc)I'll try that. If I recall correctly I did attempt what you describe, accesing it http://localhost:8080/test/test/HelloWorld, and as I recall I still recieved a HTTP 404. I'll report back my findings though.
Thanks for the help! -

dimitargeorgievski Apr 29, 2003 4:18 PM (in response to jc)check jboss-web.xml
you have to map context root to a virtual server on tomcat
<context-root>/</context-root>
<virtual-host>test</virtual-host>
and in deploy/tomcat41-service.xml
make sure you have something like this

4. Re: Can't deploy servlet in JBoss3.2 and Tomcat
jc Apr 30, 2003 11:33 AM (in response to jc)I tried making the entries in my jboss-web.xml file
you described and still recieved the HTTP 404. This
occurred when attempting access it at the follow URL
http://localhost:8080/test/HelloWorld.
Also, when I attempt to access my servlet at
http://localhost:8080/test/test/HelloWorld I recieve
a HTTP 405 which appears a bit more promising.
but still I've not had to do this in the past when I've
used Tomcat alone.
Also, I was not able to find the tomcat41-service.xml file. This was after using a search as well in the OS.
Any other ideas?
Thanks1 -
5. Re: Can't deploy servlet in JBoss3.2 and Tomcat
rex0y May 12, 2003 9:15 PM (in response to jc)i think that it needs "HtmlAdaptorServlet",
add following into web.xml
<servlet-name>HtmlAdaptor</servlet-name>
<servlet-class>org.jboss.jmx.adaptor.html.HtmlAdaptorServlet</servlet-class>
<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>HtmlAdaptor</servlet-name>
<url-pattern>/HtmlAdaptor</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>
and copy
"org.jboss.jmx.adaptor.html.HtmlAdaptorServlet.class"
file from
%JBOSS_HOME%\server\default\deploy\jmx-console.war/WEB-INF/classes
try it
